Define a synthetic leather material buyers and suppliers can compare
A product name is not a specification. Use the fields below to reduce quotation gaps, sample mismatch and repeat-order variation.

Six fields for an initial shortlist
- Finished product and component
- Material family or acceptable alternatives
- Nominal thickness and tolerance
- Backing construction and width
- Color, grain, gloss and hand feel reference
- Estimated quantity and destination market
Specification fields
| Area | Information to define | How to control it |
|---|---|---|
| Construction | Surface system, coating route, substrate and backing | Product code plus approved cross-section or supplier specification |
| Dimensions | Thickness, usable width, roll length and weight where relevant | Named method, sampling plan and agreed tolerance |
| Appearance | Color, grain, gloss, print, touch and visual defects | Signed swatch or lab dip under agreed viewing conditions |
| Mechanical | Abrasion, flex, tear, tensile, adhesion or seam strength as applicable | Named test method and target tied to the end use |
| Environment | Temperature, humidity, UV, hydrolysis, cleaning or chemical exposure | Defined conditioning and test protocol |
| Chemical | Restricted substances or buyer-specific requirements | Current report for the exact product scope |
| Commercial | MOQ, packaging, lead time, incoterm and shipment documents | Written quotation and purchase-order confirmation |
TESTING
Name the method, not only the property
Abrasion, flexing, colorfastness and flammability results are not comparable unless the method, specimen preparation, conditioning and pass threshold are known. Ask whether a report covers the same construction and color you intend to purchase.
